Guide School (8 days)

River Right’s guide school is the most thorough in the industry. Guide school teaches everything you’ll need to seek employment as a professional whitewater guide. Paddle techniques, water currents, crew management and boat control are among the topics covered throughout the school. This course includes River Rescue and CPR certification!! Spending the majority of the time on the water, you are assured to develop skills and confidence.

River Rescue for Professional Guides (2 days)

River Right is the only company to offer river rescue certification designed to meet the needs of professional guides. Guides encounter a higher variety of rescues than anyone. This course focuses on daily needs to the extreme rescues expected of commercial guides. Open discussions include rigging, pinned boats and raft based rescues. Although time is spent with professional rescue gear, most practicals are performed with the everyday gear used by whitewater guides. $199 per person


Private Instruction

The best way to learn about whitewater is a private lesson. Our instructors are all professional guides. All of our lessons are raft-based, so there is no need to worry about being left in a rapid or rolling a kayak. Our instructor sits beside you in one of the smallest rafts on the market. Learn about currents, eddies, paddle technique and boat control in one of the oldest river valleys in the US! Lessons are customized to meet individual needs. The class includes use of all equipment you'll need PLUS lunch! Full Day Private Lesson $249.00 (up to two people)

After you’ve conquered the basics, River Right can help you push your limits with our advanced lessons. We’ll hit the road to some of the best whitewater runs in the area. Your professional instructor will help you scout rapids, select the best routes and GO! Feel confident as you navigate class IV whitewater. Extra time is spent on surfing, swimming and other advanced techniques. Travel, lunch and gear provided. Rivers available depends on water levels. Prices vary.
